Eric Johnson, M.D., is a 1990 graduate of the College of Medicine, The Pennsylvania State University. He followed these studies with residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery at Cooper Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Dr. Johnson holds professional licensure in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. He is a 1990 diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and a 1999 and 2008 diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Currently serving since 2002 as Christiana Care’s Director of Orthopaedic Trauma Service, Dr. Johnson has also been the institution’s associate chief, Section of Orthopaedic Surgery, and the unit-based medical director, orthopaedic unit, since 2005. He is also on clinical faculty at Wilmington Hospital and St. Francis Hospital and is a current adjunct professor within the University of Delaware’s Physical Therapy program.
Dr. Johnson was named one of Delaware Today Magazine’s Top Docs for orthopaedic surgery in 2005, 2006, and 2007. He was Christiana Care’s Surgical Sub-Specialist of the Year in 2000.
While a student at Penn State’s College of Medicine, he was a 1990 recipient of the Dean’s Award for Student Leadership.
