Mr. Jones served in various healthcare leadership positions over 40 years, and recently retired (“graduated”) with plans to pursue several new challenges and passions. He worked at ChristianaCare Health System in Delaware supporting acute care operations; was hospital administrator of the system’s city-based hospital; and was President of the system’s home health (Visiting Nurse Association) and post-acute operations. Mr. Jones served in professional organizations including the Visiting Nurse Associations of America (board chair 2011-2013); Delaware Regent of the American College of Healthcare Executives (2012-2015); American Hospital Association Post-Acute Governing Council (council chair 2013); and Delaware Healthcare Association Post-Acute Council (council chair 2014-2018). He is a life fellow (LFACHE) of the American College of Healthcare Executives and recently chaired the ACHE Life Fellows and Retirees committee.
Mr. Jones received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA; a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from George Washington University, Washington, DC; and a certificate in Health Care Delivery Innovations from Harvard School of Business, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Mr. Jones has held leadership roles in several community organizations, including Board Chair of the YMCA of Delaware (2010-2012); Council President for the Del-Mar-Va Council of Boy Scouts (2014-2017); and the event chair for American Heart and Stroke Association Heart Ball (2018-2019).
Looking ahead, Mr. Jones is President of the Delaware Academy of Medicine/Delaware Public Health Association; President-elect of the Rotary Club of Wilmington; board member of Del-Mar-Va Boy Scouts and lead volunteer of the outreach scouting program; Advisory Council of Easter Seals Delaware and Maryland Eastern Shore; Horizons at Tower Hill board member: Parkinson’s Disease Steering Committee member; and a member of St. Mary Magdalen Pastor Advisory Council.
Mr. Jones is married and has three children and three grandchildren.
